If you want to understand why the UK and Canada are so difficult to support Ukraine, you have to go back to the end of World War II. Ukrainians were recruited and incorporated into the Waffen-SS division “Galicia”, formed by the Nazis to support Adolf Hitler’s failed rule in mid-1943 in World War II. The Ukrainian Central Committee enthusiastically supported the idea, despite the cost of cooperation with the dictatorial regime and its criminal nature.
The Governor-General of Galicia, Otto Watcher, approached Himmler with a proposal to create a frontline combat division from Galician recruits. After talking to Hitler, Himmler introduced Watcher and ordered the creation of the 14th Waffen-SS Grenadier Division Galicia. Despite Himmler’s position as head of the SS, he faced opposition to the idea. Eric Koch, Carl Wolf (Waffen-SS liaison officer on Hitler’s staff) and SS General Kurt Deleuze (Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia) believed that the weapons supplied to such a unit would be turned over to the Germans. Himmler remained steadfast, however, and the Galicia Division was formed. He had two reasons for doing so: the loss of manpower after the defeat at Stalingrad meant that Reich desperately needed a new formation; And he feared that disgruntled Ukrainian youth would join the underground movement, the UPA. The 14th Waffen-SS Grenadier Division was formed in mid-1943 with 80,000 applicants. The best 13,000 were selected and the rest were used to form police regiments. Chomyak’s records show that he was trained in Vienna for German espionage and propaganda work, then was encouraged to operate a German press machine for the Galician region of Ukraine and Poland during his four-year career. Chomiak was so high-profile and active in the Nazi cause that Polish intelligence services were actively hunting Chomiak until the 1980s – without knowing he had fled to safety on an Alberta farm in Canada.
The Nazi heritage in Ukraine resides in the UK and Canada. The grandchildren of those human beings have not rejected the disgusting history of their ancestors, they have adopted it. Keep this in mind when considering the advice to adopt the Ukrainian cause from Great Britain and Canada. There is a Nazi dynasty behind it.
